Free practice and skill leveling methods.

Arena Practice & Training Fields

Calradia is a dangerous place. Before you lead an army into the field, you must first learn to survive. For new players—or veterans testing a new weapon—the Training Fields and City Arenas are the most important locations in the early game.

Training Grounds Location The dedicated Training Field allows you to practice with every weapon type without risk.

The Training Field

Located separately on the campaign map (look for "Training Field" near the starting zones), this instance is a dedicated tutorial zone.

  • Archery Range: Practice hitting targets at various ranges. This is excellent for learning arrow drop.

  • Melee Pits: Spar against an AI trainer to learn directional blocking and chambering.

  • Horse Course: A timed track to test your riding skills and mounted combat.

Practice Fights

Every major town has an Arena. By selecting "Enter the Arena" and then "Practice Fight," you join a 25-man free-for-all.

  • No Risk: You use training weapons. If you are knocked out, you just wake up outside. You do not lose health on the campaign map.

  • Rewards:

    • Gold: You earn a small amount of Denars (up to 250) based on how many opponents you defeat.

    • XP: You gain Combat XP for every hit. This is the safest way to level your One-Handed, Two-Handed, Polearm, Bow, and Athletics skills up to around level 50-75. After that, the XP gains slow down significantly.

Arena Combat Guide Practice fights in the arena are chaotic, but they teach you how to handle multiple opponents at once.

The Arena Master

The Arena Master is an NPC found standing at the edge of the arena in every town. He serves two vital functions:

  1. Tournament Information: You can ask him, "Are there any tournaments going on nearby?" He will list cities hosting games, allowing you to travel there and win big prizes.

  2. Perk Respec: He is the only NPC in the game who can reset your perks. If you chose the wrong perk for your Weapon Types & Best Loadouts, talk to him. For a fee, he will let you re-choose all perks for a specific skill tree.

Tournament Victory Tips Winning practice fights is the first step toward dominating tournaments and earning renown.

Training vs. Real Combat

While the Arena is safe, it has limits.

  • XP Cap: As mentioned, practice weapons give reduced XP compared to lethal weapons. Once you are comfortable, move on to fighting Looters to speed up your leveling.

  • Armor: In practice fights, you wear training armor. In real battles, your high-tier armor will make you much tankier, but your enemies will also hit harder.
