Bandit-to-Commander Progression

Narrative guide for rising from looter fights to commanding armies.
Every emperor in Calradia started with a rusty sword and a single horse. Here is the roadmap for your rise to power.
Phase 1: The Scavenger (Clan Tier 0)
Goal: Survival, Renown, First 10k Denars.
Troops: 10-15 recruits (upgrade to Archers ASAP).
Targets: Looters. Do not touch Sea Raiders yet.
Income: Selling looter gear and winning Tournaments.
Key Milestone: Hitting Clan Tier 1 (requires Renown).
Phase 2: The Mercenary (Clan Tier 1)
Goal: Influence, Leveling Companions, 50k Denars.
Action: Find a King or Lord of a faction at war. Ask to enter their service as a Mercenary.
Benefits: You get paid daily based on your Influence. You can legally raid enemy villages and fight enemy lords.
Troops: 40-60 mid-tier troops.
Key Milestone: Hitting Clan Tier 2.
Phase 3: The Vassal (Clan Tier 2+)
Goal: Land Ownership (Fief), Marriage.
Action: Talk to the faction leader and swear an oath of vassalage.
Benefits: You can now vote on policies and receive Castles or Towns.
Economy: You need workshops and caravans now to support your larger garrison wages.
Key Milestone: Capturing your first town.
Phase 4: The Commander (Clan Tier 4+)
Goal: Independence or Dominance.
Action: You can now form huge Armies using your influence.
Choice: Stay a loyal vassal and become the Marshal/Archon, OR leave the kingdom to start your own.
Risk: Starting a kingdom triggers wars with neighbors. Ensure you have millions in the bank.
