On Steam Deck, the “advanced” formations (square, circle, skein, etc.) only show up when you’re using the radial command menu, not the old list-style UI.

1. Turn on the radial command menu

  1. Open the Esc / Pause menu.

  2. Go to Options → Gameplay → User Interface.

  3. Find Order Virtuals Type (sometimes shown as Command UI Style).

  1. Select a formation
