Main Storyline: Tips and Troubleshooting

The Bannerlord main quest can be confusing, and at times, punishingly difficult. This guide addresses the most common sticking points players encounter.

Stuck on "Neretzes's Folly"?

This is the most complained-about quest.

• Problem: "I can't find the last noble!"

• Solution: Open the Encyclopedia (N). Go to "Kingdoms". Click on a faction (e.g., Sturgia). Look at the "Leader". Click their name. In the top right, it will say "Last seen at [Town Name] today/yesterday". Go there immediately.

• Note: If a noble dies, their successor should count, but sometimes the quest bugs out.

Hideout Bosses Are Too Hard?

The Dragon Banner quest forces you to clear two difficult hideouts.

• Problem: "The boss one-shots me in the duel."

• Solution:

  1. Don't Duel: You can decline the duel. Your troops will rush the boss. You might lose a few men, but you won't risk a "Game Over" capture screen.

  2. Bring Shields: Fill your party roster (top of the list) with Legionaries or other shield troops.

The Conspiracy Meter Is Filling Too Fast!

• Problem: "I can't stop the meter!"

• Solution: You aren't supposed to. The meter is designed to fill eventually. The quests (destroy caravan/hideout) are just there to buy you time to prepare for the final war. Don't stress if it hits 1800/2000. Just get your armies ready.

Game-Breaking Bugs

If a quest is truly stuck (e.g., a noble spawned inside a mountain):

1. Enable Cheats: Alt + ~ (if enabled in config).

2. Use the command: campaign.complete_active_quest [Quest Name]

• Warning: This disables achievements.
