Rare items, quest rewards, and notable crafted builds.
Legendary Weapons & Artifacts
In Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord, "Legendary" items function differently than in many RPGs. You won't find a glowing sword in a dungeon chest. Instead, the best weapons in Calradia are either family heirlooms or, more likely, forged by your own hand.
The Dragon Banner
The most famous artifact in the game is the Dragon Banner.
Acquisition: You assemble it during the main questline by finding all 3 pieces.
Use: It can be equipped in a weapon slot.
Effect: When deployed in battle, it provides buffs to troops around you, but it occupies a hand, preventing you from fighting effectively.
Verdict: It is more of a plot device than a "god-tier" weapon.
Crafted Legends
The true legendary weapons are made via Smithing. When your Smithing skill is high enough (and you have the relevant perks), you have a chance to craft items with modifiers:
Fine
Masterwork
Legendary
A Legendary crafted weapon receives massive stat boosts to speed, damage, and handling.
A Legendary crafted 2H sword can one-shot almost any enemy in the game.
How to Craft Them
Level Smithing to 300+.
Take the Legendary Smith perk (Level 275).
Use Tier 5 materials (Thamaskene Steel).
Pray to RNG (or save scum).
Comparing a standard noble weapon to a player-crafted masterpiece shows the difference clearly.
Unique Tournament Rewards
Tournaments occasionally award unique named weapons. These aren't "Legendary" rarity, but they are unique:
Early Retirement: A fast 2H axe.
Black Heart: A decent 2H axe often found in early tournaments.
The Sledge: A massive 2H mace.
These are excellent early-game power spikes before you get your Smithing up. Check our Arena & Tournament Guide for tips on winning these.
Noble Gear
The highest tier "standard" gear is Noble gear.
Noble Longbow: The best purchasable bow.
Noble Bow: A step down but usable on horseback (with perks).
Crowns: High-tier civilian headgear with high armor.
To afford these, you'll need deep pockets. See our Smithing & Item Value guide to make the money needed to buy them.
