Raiding Villages and Caravans

High-risk, high-reward raiding tactics and consequences.
Raiding Villages and Caravans
War in Calradia isn't just about glorious field battles; it's about logistics and economy. Raiding is a brutal but effective way to cripple your enemy's economy and feed your own army.
Why Raid?
Raiding serves three main purposes:
Loot & Food: Desperate times call for desperate measures. A raided village yields grain, livestock, and trade goods.
Economic Warfare: A raided village cannot pay taxes or produce food for its bound town, lowering the town's prosperity and food stocks.
Provocation: Raiding a village is an act of war.
Consequences
Be warned: Raiding is not without cost.
Relation Loss: You will lose significant relation with the village notables and the owning clan. See Reputation & Relations.
Honor: Your character's Honor trait will decrease.
Criminal Rating: You will be marked as a criminal in that kingdom.

Raiding Villages
You have two options when approaching a hostile village:
Force Supplies to be Given
This is a "lite" raid. You demand goods. If they refuse, you fight the militia.
Pros: Faster, less relation penalty.
Cons: Less loot.
Raid and Burn
The full commitment. You strip the village bare and set it on fire.
Pros: Maximum loot, destroys village hearths (economy damage).
Cons: Takes time (during which you are vulnerable), massive relation penalty.
Raiding Caravans
Caravans are floating loot piñatas, but they bite back. Caravan Guards are heavily armored and mounted.
Target: Look for caravans from factions you are at war with.
Loot: High-value trade goods (Velvet, Spice, Tools) and warhorses.
Speed: You need high Party Speed Mechanics to catch them.
Loot Tables & Strategy
Different cultures produce different goods.
Aserai: Dates, Horses.
Battania: Wood, Clay, Grapes.
Sturgia: Furs, Flax.
Knowing Economy & Trade Basics helps you choose the juiciest targets.
Hit and Run: Use cavalry-heavy parties to strike deep into enemy territory, burn a village, and flee before their army catches you.
