Recruiting Noble Troops

In Bannerlord, not all recruits are created equal. While most volunteers start as peasants, Noble Troops start at Tier 2 and can upgrade to the devastating Tier 6 units, such as the Battanian Fian Champion or Vlandian Banner Knight.

What are Noble Troops?

These are the elite unit lines. Unlike standard troops which cap at Tier 5, Noble lines go up to Tier 6.

• Vlandia: Squire -> Banner Knight (Best Cavalry Units)

• Battania: Highborn Youth -> Fian Champion (Best Archer Units)

• Empire: Vigla Recruit -> Elite Cataphract

Where to Find Them

Noble troops are not found everywhere. They spawn primarily in villages bound to Castles, rather than towns.

• Look for notables in these villages who are "Powerful" (Landowners). Powerful notables are more likely to spawn noble recruits.

The Relation Requirement

This is the catch. Noble troops often spawn in the 3rd, 4th, or 5th slot of the recruitment window.

• To access these slots, you need high Relation with the notable (10+).

• If your relation is 0, you might see the Noble Recruit, but you won't be able to hire him.

Strategies

1. Target Specific Villages: Pick a culture you like and focus on 2-3 villages.

2. Quest Spam: Do every quest for those specific landowners.

3. Perks: Use perks in the Charm tree to boost relation gains.
