How to raise relations with village/town notables for better recruits.

Relationship Building with Notables

Building trust with the common folk and local leaders is a path to power in Bannerlord. High relations with Notables mean better troops and more support.

Building Relations

Why Build Relations?

  • Recruitment: Access noble troops and more volume of recruits. See Recruiting Noble Troops.

  • Quests: Some quests are only offered if you have a baseline trust.

  • Supporters: In towns, high relation notables provide passive influence if you own the settlement.

Methods

1. Quests

The most direct way. See our Quests & Notables guide. Completing a task like "Family Feud" can give +5 to +10 relation instantly.

Taking Quests

2. Clearing Bandit Hideouts

This is the most efficient method for area-wide relations.

  • Find a hideout.

  • Wait until night.

  • Attack and defeat the boss.

  • Result: You gain relation with all notables in the nearby villages and towns. See Clearing Hideouts.

3. Protecting Villagers

If you see "Villagers of [Village]" being attacked by looters, jump in to help. Winning the battle grants relation with the notable they belong to.

Perks

The Charm skill is your best friend here.

  • Virile: First perk, often gives +relation for having children, but look for perks that boost quest rewards.

  • Meaningful Favors: Increases relation gain from solved issues.

Check the Charm Skill Guide for a full build.
